When I installed the open-source FreeMind onto my SurfaceBook, I wound up with tiny icons. Since my usual method of fixing this issue wasn’t working, I had to turn to Google for answers. Here’s the fix with visual aids, based on suggestions found here.
FreeMind Scaling Fix for Windows 10
Find the executable file. (The default location for mine was C:\Program Files (x86)\FreeMind)
Right-click the executable file and select Properties.
Go to the Compatibility tab.
Click on “Change high DPI settings” under Settings.
Chose Override and select “System” from the dropdown options.
Click “OK”, which closes out the window, then click “Apply” in the FreeMind.exe Properties window.
