While in the process of redesigning my site to be more cohesive, I realized that I really needed another organization option for written content. Tags are great, but I wanted the option to put similar posts onto their own page. So I spent the afternoon looking into Jekyll category options. I did manage to find a method that didn’t rely on plugins, which was a good starting point. Something similar has been implemented in the background of this blog.

It’s not going to be really visible yet. The particular design of my current blog template is a little limiting on display options. It’ll take some rework of the code to make categories presentable. I’m probably going to leave things as is until I’ve designed and built a personal template. Once I build the new one, I’ll post the code I use for category generation.
